Finding Faulkner: The Progeny | Adam David Hagerman {Gen 4}



It started, as good quests always do, with a family tale.


Adam David Hagerman (Eliza Marie, Robert, Samuel, William) was born in Labette Co, Kansas, October 4th 1871, to parents Eliza Marie Faulkner and Jacob Hagerman.

Adam David married Alta A Chavers (1880-1949) on July 10th 1895 in Hudson, Indian Territory, Cherokee Nation, Kansas.

The couple had eight children:

  • James Luther Hagerman b. 11 Feb 1897 d. 13 Jun 1966 never married
  • John Wesley Hagerman b. 30 Aug 1898 d. 9 Apr 1947 m. Anna D Cleveland
  • Paul Ocie Hagerman b. 27 Sep 1902 d. 20 Jan 1969 m. May A Dierking
  • Elmore Harvey Hagerman b. 9 Aug 1905 d. 31 Oct 1977 m. Mary S Armstrong
  • Julie Mae Hagerman b. 3 Mar 1907 d. 31 Mar 1968 m. Jesse E Harvey
  • Margaret Sue Hagerman b. 16 Oct 1912 d. 16 Oct 1912
  • Addie Faye Hagerman b. 12 Jul 1914 d. 27 Jul 1971 m. Laurrant J Rollins
  • Clara Elva Maxine Hagerman b. 18 Sep 1921 d. 1 May 1977 m. Clinton L Lanham

Adam was a general farmer in what began as the Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory, then Oklahoma Territory and finally Woodward County, Oklahoma. He remained actively farming up to 1940 as documented on that year's census, the last US Census available to date.

Alta Chavers Hagerman was a farmers wife. She passed away on March 4th 1949 at the young age of 68. Alta is buried in Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Noble Co, Oklahoma.

Adam David Hagerman followed his wife 5 years later on March 2nd 1954. He was 83 years old. Adam is buried along side his wife in Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Noble Co, Oklahoma.
