It started, as good quests always do, with a family tale.

Sarah Maria Faulkner (Samuel, Robert, Samuel, William) was born in Wayne Co, New York October 25th 1851, to parents Samuel Faulkner and Elizabeth Ann Lyons.

Sarah married William D Watson (1845-1926) September 30th 1868 in Decatur Co, Indiana.

The couple had at least four children: all born Decatur Co, IN

Sarah was about 15 years old at the time. Her grandparents had removed to Indiana 15 years earlier.

Sarah met and married William Watson shortly after arriving in Indiana. Sarah was 16 at the time of the marriage, William was 23. William was a farm hand, a day laborer by trade. The couple resided in the home of their daughter Margaret and her husband for the last 20 years of their life.
