Finding Faulkner: The Progeny | John W Ryan {Gen 4}

It started, as good quests always do, with a family tale.

John W Ryan (Esther Ann, Robert, Samuel, William) was born in Kosciusko Co, Indiana June 5th 1859, to parents Esther Ann Faulkner and James Ryan.

John W married Mary J Ralston (1862-1938) on August 9th 1881 in Kosciusko Co, IN.

The couple had five children: all born Warsaw, Kosciusko Co, IN

• Albert John Ryan b. 23 May 1887 d. 13 Nov 1962 m. Jane L Kilkelly
• Edna M Ryan b. 30 Mar 1889 d. 29 Dec 1973 m. (1) Arthur I Rentfrow (2) Herman Christianer
• Ona Eliza Ryan b. 18 Jan 1893 d. 10 Oct 1944 m. Elmer H McCleary
• Garrett Hobart Ryan b. 11 Aug 1896 d. 4 Jul 1968 m. (1) Erba Heeter no issue (2)Anna T Strand

John W held a variety of jobs in adulthood. Day labor, farm hand, laborer at a blacksmith shop and finally custodian at a city park. For a time he owned his own home and farm, later in life he was renting a home.

John W Ryan died on February 7th 1937 of a cerebral hemorrhage. At the time of death he was visiting his newly divorced daughter, Edna, in Anderson, Indiana. He was 77 years old.

John W Ryan is buried in Washington Union Twp Cemetery in Pierceton, Kosciusko Co IN.

Mary Ralston Ryan died the following February and is buried next to her husband in Washington Union Twp Cemetery. Mary was 76 years old.
