It started, as good quests always do, with a family tale.
Emma Ryan (Esther Ann, Robert, Samuel, William) was born in Kosciusko Co, Indiana April 12th 1865, to parents Esther Ann Faulkner and James Ryan.
Emma married Wilson E Thrush (1863-1940) on April 5th 1890 in Kosciusko Co, Indiana.
The couple had one child:
- Harry A Thrush b. 11 Sep 1891 d. 17 Oct 1912 never married
Wilson was a blacksmith by trade, Emma was a stay at home wife who may have been sickly.
Emma Ryan Thrush died on October 4th 1910 of uremic poisoning - kidney failure. She was 45 years old. She is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Warsaw, Kosciusko Co, IN.
Wilson married for a second time in 1911, the widow Etta Belle Oakley nee Shaffer.
The following fall Emma and Wilson's only child, Harry, was killed in a mining accident in Butte, Montana. He is buried next to his mother in Oakwood Cemetery.
Wilson E Thrush lived to be 77 years old, he died December 7th 1940 and is buried with both of his wives and his son in Oakwood Cemetery.
