Finding Faulkner: The Progeny | Mary Helen Horton {Gen 4}

It started, as good quests always do, with a family tale.

Mary Helen Horton (Harrison F Horton, Margaret, Samuel, William) was born in Newburgh, Orange Co, New York, February 3rd 1840, to parents Harrison Faulkner Horton and Emily Coleman.

Mary married Giles C Burnham (1830-1900) on June 8th 1864 in either Michigan or New York.

The couple had three children: all born Kalamazoo, Michigan

  • Harrison Horton Burnham b. 27 Jun 1869 d. 27 Aug 1870
  • Anna Horton Burnham b. 17 Feb 1872 d. 13 Dec 1924 never married
  • Mary W Burnham b. 22 Jan 1876 d. UNK m. Oscar E Jacobs

Giles was drafted for the Civil War in 1863, but I am unsure if he ever served.

Giles was a bookkeeper by profession, Mary was a housewife.

Giles C Burnham died in March of 1900 in Kalamazoo, MI. He was 69 years old. Giles is buried in Mountain Home Cemetery in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Mary Helen Horton Burnham died September 30th 1922 in Kalamazoo, MI. She was 82 years old. Mary is buried in Mountain Home Cemetery in Kalamazoo, MI alongside her husband.
