It started, as good quests always do, with a family tale.
Robert married Frances "Fannie" Scofield (1823-1907) in 1842 in Orange Co or Sullivan Co, New York.
The couple had three children: (all born Sullivan County, New York)
- Wellington McBride b. abt 1843 d. 7 Dec 1922 m. Isabella M Post no issue
- Mary Augusta McBride b. Jul 1847 d. 20 Sep 1929 m. George O Foster no issue
- Emily C McBride b. Dec 1852 d. 9 Jul 1920 never married
Robert M McBride was a farmer in Sullivan Co, New York. He was included on a list of all persons subject to do military duty June 1863 but it is not known whether he actually was called to duty. He was 40 years old at the time. His son Wellington was also on that list.
Robert M McBride died August 6th 1900 and is buried in North Settlement Cemetery in Monticello, Sullivan Co, New York. His wife Frances Scofield McBride died January 17th 1907 and is buried along side her husband.
