Finding Faulkner: The Progeny | John Boak {Gen 4}


It started, as good quests always do, with a family tale.

John Boak (Achsah, Wm Bull, James, William) was born in Scotchtown, Orange Co, New York November 22nd 1799, to parents Achsah Faulkner and Jame Boak.

John married Maria Clark (b. 1800 d. 1855) about 1824 in Orange Co, New York.

The couple had at least 4 children: all born Wallkill, Orange Co, New York

  • Mary Ann Boak b. 28 Jun 1825 d. 26 Jan 1869 m. Norman Randall Norton
  • Jame Clark Boak b. 7 Oct 1828 d. 13 Sep 1898 m. Emily Barton
  • William F Boak b. 27 Aug 1832 d. UNK
  • Hannah Eliza Boak b. 10 Sep 1836 d. 14 Jan 1837

John died October 31st 1836 in Wallkill, Orange Co, New York. He is buried in the Scotchtown Cemetery in Orange Co, New York. Maria remarried sometime before 1843, a widower named James Davis of Elmira, New York. The couple resided in Elmira where Maria had another child, a daughter Josephine P Davis. Maria Clark Boak Davis died November 4th 1855; her place of burial is unknown.
