Finding Faulkner: The Progeny | Harriet Walsh {Gen 4}

It started, as good quests always do, with a family tale.

Harriet Walsh (Mary Ann, Joseph, James, William) was born in Orange Co, New York, in August 1832, to parents Mary Ann Faulkner and Hiram Walsh (Welch).

Harriet married John A Galloway (1829-1907) about 1852, most likely in Orange Co, New York.

Harriet and John had three children: (according to the 1900 U S Census)

  • William Augustus Galloway b. May 1853 d. 30 Apr 1909 m. Ada M LNU
  • Bartlett R Galloway b. abt 1856 d. 12 Mar 1905 never married
  • FNU Galloway b. UNK d. bef 1900

Not much is know of this family. Nothing is known of Harriet, unfortunately. John was a dairy farmer in Richmond Co, New York. He enlisted in the Union Army in 1862, was listed as "deserted but caught" and mustered out in 1865.

John Galloway died December 24th 1907 in Richmond Co, New York. He is buried in the Moravain Cemetery on Staten Island. He was 78 years old.

Harriet Walsh Galloway died January 4th 1908. She is buried with her husband in the Moravain Cemetery. She was 75 years old.
